Today was a much better day than yesterday. I think it helped that we actually got dressed. Though TODAY, Bryce wanted to have a pajama party, I told him we were feeling better (no more runny noses - hooray!), so we were getting dressed. He obliged, but only after I bribed the little turkey with his uber favorite outfit - a brown jogging suit with Diego and his baby Jaguar on the shirt. Of course, the shirt is a hoodie of sorts, which means, to my ever OCD child, that the hood is on his head, all day long, no matter how warm it is, or how sweaty his head gets, the stupid hood stays on his head ALL DAY. Silly boy.
Brady also cooperated with me today. We got the house put back together with minimal arguements and attempts at destroying everything I did. He was even good about helping Bryce and I pick up the playroom, which could have been an all day chore. But, we had the house all done and tidy, including the vacuuming, by 1130 - just in time for lunch.
Brady has been going through a funny stage of not eating protien, which is driving the mother in me absolutely crazy on one hand. On the other hand, he is eating only fruits and vegetables, so maybe we have a vegetarian on our hands. Which suits me fine, however, he wouldn't even eat his fish sticks at lunch today. What kid doesn't like fish sticks????
But, the absolute best part of the day was actually getting Brady to nap before 1230. Bryce has been on a napping strike for the past week or so, but I still lay him down for some mommy respite. Which was a good thing, becuase my new furniture and rug were delivered today and I could only imagine the incessant questioning session that would have ensued while the delivery guys were bringing things in. Though, I did not have to imagine much. "Why did you buy that table? Why did you tell him to put it there? Where is he going? Why does the rug have squares? Why do you need that furniture?" I can quote those because he ended up coming out of the bedroom before they left and that was pretty much how his end of the conversation went. He frequently forgets that I have instated a new rule, for my own sanity, that he can only ask one question at a time, and, after the question is answered, he can't ask it again - over and over again. Now, for all of you naysayers thinking I am stunting this poor child's ever growing curiosity and leanring - trust me, he gets his questions answered, several times, in fact. But a girl can only handle so much in a five minute time span!!
The nice thing about the no napping is that he is in bed by 8 every night, rather than fighting with him to just lay down before 10. He is passed out cold before 830 every night. I love it. It would be even nicer if Brady would do the same. I thought moving his nap time up would improve his bed time. However, the little stinker was still up at 10. Every night it is such a fight to get him to just go to bed and STAY THERE! Super Nanny tricks don't work on him, either. He thinks them quite amusing, before getting truly pissed off and conjuring Hulk type anger fits. Seriously, he tries to lift HUGE, heavy things when he is good and pissed. Of course, this is after his attempts to beat anything and everything in his path. He gets that from his father, I think.
Of course, not napping him would improve the situation . . . at night. But seroiusly folks, that is just not an option for me. I am exhausted chasing after him and entertaining him by lunchtime, and the break I get to sit quietly and meditate, exercise, or read a magazine is like a day at the spa for some of you. Yeah - that good.
Now that my house is slowly staring to come together and look like adults live in it, rather than fresh faced college grads, I am finally feeling like this is my home. I am truely enjoying this new chapter in our lives. If I could only figure out this stupid paint scheme and then get the darn thing painted, I would never leave . . .

So did you get the day bed? You didn't expound on what furniture you received nor where it went. Don't I sound like Bryce! What is the table for? Why did you put it there? Why is it that color? :)
