Holy crap, I can't believe it is February already! Where did January go, and why wasn't I here to see it? I need a memo about these things, people!!
So, today was an ordinary day, like most. We spent the morning playing toys, reading stories, and coloring in color books. Well, Bryce and I colored in the books. Brady decided he is no longer happy with the color of my kitchen floor and chose to decorate it a bit. Thank goodness it is cheap vinyl flooring, and crayon comes right off of it with the scrubby part of a sponge. Otherwise, I would have some pretty orange, blue, pink, and black floors.
I guess he wanted to match the floors to the wall in the computer room . . . .and now I have to tell you THAT story. It is pretty funny.

One evening a few weeks ago, Bryce asked if he could play his computer game. We had bought him one of those Fisher Price Internet things, where, when you hook it up and plug different characters into it, it takes the child to that character's website, and they can't get out of the website unless they change characters or have a password. Each website has games and such that are educational and pretty amusing to his 3 year old self. So, I hooked it up for him and he got down to business. Eventually, Brady went into the computer room and sat with his brother to watch the entertainment on the computer screen. Thinking they were sidetracked for a bit, Travis and I took the opportunity to go into the next room (the family room) to read the paper. We heard them giggling and laughing it up in the computer room and I commented to Travis on how cute it was and how nice it is that they are able to get along and entertain each other. They were in there giggling for about an hour before coming out. I guess they figured it was time for Travis and I to be entertained, as well . . . but, I digress. So, later that night, after the boys were in bed, Travis and I are in the computer room, surfing the web and what not. One of the dogs walks into the room and bumps the door, so that it starts to close a bit (they are not the most coordinated of 4 legged creatures). I looked over and saw, to my utter amazement, 2 crayons on the floor behind the door, and some interesting artwork ON THE WALL. Now, I am not sure who the artist was (but I am pretty sure it was Brady), but, of course, my dear husband has to make the comment that "they were doing so good entertaining themselves and getting along" . . . *sigh*. For the record, the artwork is still there. I am thinking that, once they are old enough for their own bedrooms and I move them downstairs, this is going to be Brady's room. Complete with his own color palette choices! Oh, the joys of toddlerhood . . .
Anyway, back to today. After naptime, I thought it would be nice to go outside and play, now that the weather has warmed up to above zero temperatures and the wind was not trying to blow my roof off. However, my 3 year old was quick to inform me, in his ever growing and irritating sassy voice, that he was tired, his toys were a mess, and he was NOT going outside. SO, he got to go downstairs to sort toys and put them away. I thought it would be punishment for him, but he is too much like his mother and ENJOYED the cleaning. Ah well, win some, lose some, at least the toys got picked up.
Tonight, we were able to go into town and meet Trav for dinner at Puerto Vallarta (or however you spell that). I love that place! It is absolutely the best damn Mexican food I have EVER had, and I have had some good Mexican, let me tell you! Then, it was off to Home Depot for more paint - well, paint choices, that is. But, I am still at a loss as to what freaking colors to paint this house. I may have to resort to a designer. Huh, not a bad idea, if only they were free and did all of the work for me. . . in a dreamers world.
