I am going to be famous. No, not someday, but sometime next week. I know, I know, you are DYING to know how, and, since you aren't privileged to live in good old Brandon, SD, so you won't have access to the illusive weekly newspaper chock full of who had what for dinner last week, I shall share.
I got a call from my realtor this afternoon asking if he could give my name to the local newspaper who was doing a story on the sad affairs of real estate in the United States. Apparently, the national average of foreclosures and real estate crap has avoided this area of the States, so the reporter was curious as to why. I agreed and she called, asked a bunch of questions about why we chose Brandon over Sioux Falls (silly woman had NO clue that it was TRAVIS who bought the house, I wasn't with him and, though he did a good job, the house was pretty much the only one out there that met our criteria and budget. I didn't really care where it was, as long as the boys and I didn't have to sleep in a box somewhere.) Of course, I was a good little interviewee and gushed about how great the town is, blah, blah, blah. What I should have told her was the little sun shining in O in Brandon's town logo should actually have a cloud over it, since the sun, apparently, does not like Brandon. But, I didn't go there. She got her interview and now I am going to be in the paper! woo hoo! Aren't YOU jealous??? ha ha
Even though the sun proved shy this morning, late this afternoon, it decided to show us his happy face. So, the boys and I headed outside to play and pick up some major dog logs scattered throughout the many layers of snow int he backyard. Bryce proved quite helpful with his little shovel and baggie. Brady tried to do his best to give me a workout by chasing after him. His favorite game was to wait until mama had her back turned to scoop the poop into the bag and then haul ass towards the street. This, in turn, cause me to shout his name, which, in toddlerese, means run faster. I then had to throw the shovel and bags down, and attempt to run like hell after him. This is a very difficult task in 8 inches of very wet and heavy, melting snow, and a bag of poop attempting to trip me the first few steps of running. I am sure, had I been out front, where it seemed the entire neighborhood was taking advantage of the nice weather by doing yard work, I would have been the butt (yep, pun intended) of many a joke. However, the backyard saved my dignity, somewhat, and my ability to recover from my klutziness (been a klutz for a while, it is an acquired skill) saved Brady from actually getting TO the street and being squished by the many snow trucks out removing the ginormous hills blocking the intersections.
OH! And, for those wondering how last night went, it was rough. But, I stuck to my guns, and got them up super early this morning. They napped by 1130 and were up before 3. Brady was in bed by 745 tonight and Bryce by 930. All in all, I think I have finally got this sleeping schedule figured out. Of course, the nice weather and the ability to run them exhausted helps, too!

I'll trade ya. I'll let you talk to the Ranger-Review newspaper who try and turn your words to create controversy. But then there are times I give them just enough to get it going, but I never really "stir the pot". You didn't inherit any of that from me?? ;)
ReplyDeleteSure, you do an interview for the paper in Brandon, but won't do a TV interview in Butte, leaving me to cover your butt!!! NICE! Not something I will forget anytime soon! ;}
ReplyDeletelol, in my defense, I WAS on maternity leave! ~8-p

I DIDNT HAVE 8 IN OF SNOW BUT THE SNOW MELTED JUST ENOUGH TO WHERE IT TURNED INTO ICE DURING THE NIGHT, YEAH WONDERFUL. I BET I GAVE THE NEXT DOOR NEIGHBOR A GOOD LAUGH SINCE HE JUST HAPPENED TO BE OUTSIDE, OF COURSE BUT HE DID ASK ME IF I WAS OK...JUST A LITTLE HUMILIATING! I LOVE YOUR BLOGS KEEP THEM UP! LOVE YOU:)
