The Valentines are made, the house is clean (almost 100%), the laundry is DONE and the kids are in bed. And it is only 1 AM. Thank goodness Trav helped me with the laundry, or I would still be putting it away! I don't know why, but I could clean and scrub 100 bathrooms and kitchens all day, but I HATE laundry! It never freaking ends! However, if I don't do it and let it pile up, then the OCD in me kicks in, I get pissy, and start washing clothes like a mad woman. So I wash them, dry them, fold them, and then put them in a basket. Why can't it put itself away??? Ugh.
The Valentines turned out pretty cute and the boys had fun painting. However, they are alot of work, so we only made a few for the grandparents and great grandparents (and one for my great grandma - the boys's great great grandma. I am sure she is gonna love it!)
Yesterday, we went to a birthday party at the Ramada. They have a really cool pool their with a pirate ship in it that the kids can climb in and slide off of. Bryce was in heaven, as he is really into all things pirates right now. I liked that it was a zero entry pool, so I didn't have to worry too much about the boys in it (although Travis still got in with them and, of course, they had to wear their arm floaties.) They also have a super huge water slide in another pool that is much deeper. I was somewhat worried, but, with the water wings, both of them did great. Brady surprised the heck out of me by turning over on his back and floating through the pool, kicking his legs. Both of my boys love the water and swimming, and I am planning on getting them signed up for lessons soon. (One of the drawbacks of living in such a big city is that there are waiting lists). After swimming the evening away, they slept like the dead all night, only to be awakened bright and early this morning so that I could take them to the Outdoor Campus. I signed them up for a Nature Story class. It was fun, they got to learn about different animals, their skin, tails, ears, and feet, and then play with play doh to make the different animals. Afterwards, they colored pictures, and then we had to go check out the huge aquarium they have their that is full of fish from the area. Then, it was off to Walgreens for some anniversary cards for my parents (Bryce LOVES to pick his own card out) and then lunch at Culver's for the drive home. With all of the activity this morning, I figured they should have a nap, as they were getting pretty crabby, and I was kind of sleepy, myself. They slept for 3 hours! Of course, I paid for it tonight, but all is well, they are asleep, now. I was hoping to wear them out this afternoon playing outside, but this freaking snow never ends. Neither does the wind. Unfortunately, the wind just makes it colder, rather than melting the snow. So, we have snow up to our knees and subzero temperatures. *sigh* I can't wait for Spring! I am hoping that what all of the locals have been tellin gme is true and that the snow starts melting by the end of this month and is gone by mid March, when things start to warm up. I can't wait to get started on my garden and landscaping the yard! I am so excited to finally be living in a place where it doesn't snow in June and I can actually grow something other than petunias! Hopefully, we will have the kitchen renovated and some curtains up by then.
Tomorrow is the big day for Brady's Early Intervention screening. The little stinker is still not talking (though, with a big brother who does it all for you, why should he?). However, it is enough of a concern to me and the doctor, we figured we should at least get him checked out. I am hoping that they can help me figure out how to help him communicate better so we can get a handle on the anger issues and his tantrums. And help me figure out a way to have Bryce let Brady talk for himself. Bryce told me tonight that "Brady is a baby. He doesn't talk, he just says Mama". Though he is somewhat correct (Brady says a few more words, though they are mostly sounds that animals make, vroom for anything with wheels, and all 4 legged creatures are called Bobo - after our dog), I tried to explain to Bryce that Brady COULD talk, Bryce just needed to let him. Bryce matter of factly informed me that "well, Brady is still a baby. He pees in a diaper, and not on the potty, like me. Only big boys talk." I think I am fighting a losing battle, here.

That's so funny! Logan insists Sylvie is a baby too! He calls her "Baby." or "Baby Sylvie." But now she's getting bigger in ways he notices and it's throwing him off a bit. Nothing pleases Sylvie more than when we say "Oh boy, Sylvie is a big girl now!"
