We have had quite a few busy days this weekend and today! On Saturday, we woke up early and took the boys to the Butterfly Gardens. Travis has never been, and Bryce has been bugging me to go back for a while now. I love that place, it is so magiacal in there, and I dream of going one day, sans 2 little boys, and indulging the photgrapher in me by just sitting on their rather comfy benches and snapping away.
With the boys, I am usually barking at Bryce to quit jumping all over the place, living in constant fear that he is going to either land in the Koi Pond, or crush one of those priceless butterflies who may fatally decide to rest for a moment underneath my ever excited 3 year olds leaping feet. If I am not telling Bryce to walk quietly and enjoy the scenery, then I am juggling Brady (who I would never DARE let out of my arms, because, let's face it, I couldn't afford the lawsuit), who insists on squirming and doing his own immitations of Bryce leaping, albeit from my arms. With all of this activity, we did manage get some great pictures, with Travis's help, of course.
After the Butterfly house, we went over the the Outdoor Campus, which is a super cool interactive place that teaches visitors about the flora and fauna of the area. Bryce loves the 30,000 gallon fish tank and the resident bull frog. Brady tries to climb INTO the tank to swim with the fishes. *sigh* He is one busy 2 year old!
After the activities of the morning and a simply scrumptious lunch at the Royal Fork, we headed to Home Depot where I attempted to, yet again, coordinate paint chips with my house. Trying ot imagine red, no yellow, maybe purple, but never blue. UGH! Finally, after 2 hours, a pissy husband, and bored kiddos, I asked a gal to help solve my dillema. She happened to be a design student (cha-ching!), and took the curtain I had brought in to help me match SOMETHING, as well as a paint chip the color of my couch and picked out some AWESOME colors for the living room, kitchen, dining room, and foyer. My huge dillema about it all was that I wanted color, but, I didn't want it all the same color, and, since you can see all of these rooms when you are in another, I needed everything to go. And, go it does! We spent Sunday painitng most of it and I finished the painting of everything except the kitchen and foyer today. And, if I do say so myself, it looks fabulous!! However, after a day of painting, cleaning, and chasing 2 very bored kids through the house (though they were troopers for staying in and letting me get the painting done), I am exhausted! They will love me tomorrow, however, we are off to Walmart for groceries, or "white shopping" as Bryce puts it. Don't ask me why he calls it this, but we have our suspicions. After Walmart, we'll do lunch at Culvers (Bryce calls it "Vultures", which makes me giggle), and then more shopping for curtains and a few knick knacks to put on my new tables. So, another full day. I'll just bet ya can't wait for tomorrow's blog!
