Organization ROCKS!

I have decided that if it snows one more freaking time, we are having groundhog for dinner. Yup, I am driving my happy booty over to Pennsylvania to steal that lil bugger and roast his ass the whole way home! grrr! This comes, of course, after the news reports of today being the coldest day of the year. Without windchill, it was 19 below zero. With windchill . . freaking cold as hell. Not even penguins would want this crap. Bryce is sick of the snow and cold, too. He told me this morning that he can't wait for the snow to melt so he can go outside to play. Poor kid has some serious cabin fever.

Add to that my being seriously tired, since Mr. Brady decided to get up at 2 AM this morning and STAY up until 7 AM, and I thought today was going to be a wash. After fighting with him most of the night to get him back to bed and trying hard not to be mad at him (he was making being angry difficult by stroking my face ever so softly and whispering "mama?" so sweetly), he finally zonked out at about 7. Of course, Bryce was up at 830, happy to tell me that the sun was up and so should I be. I got my revenge on Brady, though. Hehe, I woke his booty up, too!

Because of the frigid temperatures, we made the best of yet another indoor only day and pulled the playroom completely apart, reorganized all of the toys and put them away in my handy dandy new cupboards that I got for super cheap at Shopko. (yeah, it was an awesome find!). I love the new playroom! I don't want to go into a frenzy of cleaning everytime I go downstairs, because the toys are all nicely hidden behind closet doors. Of course, it still looks like a playroom, and that is okay with me. The train table, toybox, and car bins are visible but, hey, I have kids, and this is their home and where they play. At least now, it is organized and they can actually play with all of their toys, instead of wondering where this or that is becuase whatever they were looking for is hidden in the depths of the gargantuan toybox (which, for the record, now only holds the stuffed animals that were piled up hither and yon).

I seriously thought that the task of sorting and organizing the toys would take a couple of hours, at most. However, when you have 2 very curious and busy boys following behind you, undoing most of what you have sorted and put away, the task seems to take a bit longer. So, it was an all day chore, but it got done, the boys are happy, Travis is happy, and, most of all, I am happy! ~8-p

The best moment of the day, however, was when I found the piece to Bryce's computer game that he has been looking for forever. When I found it, I told him, "I have a surprise for you!" After I showed him and his face lit up like a Christmas tree, he gave me the biggest hug, grabbed my face and said, "oh mommy! I am so proud of you!" lol. And that, folks, is why I love being a mommy!
