A New Bryce-ism

I took the boys into town this afternoon, after picking Bryce up from school, to get their hair cut. Bryce fell asleep on the way into town and was sleeping pretty hard (we are talking snores and drool here) when I pulled up to the salon. I took Brady out first, while trying to gently awaken Bryce. By the time I got to the other side of the truck, he was starting to wake up, but still had the "deer in the headlights" look all the way up the elevator to the salon. When we got in to see the stylist, he was starting to come out of his coma and starting the billion question marathon he frequently throws himself into at odd times of the day. During the marathons, he also gives out odd advice or random bits of information. Katie was awesome at handling his questions and hid her giggles well from his random thoughts of 4 year old wisdom. As she started cutting his hair, she asked if he was going to school yet.

Bryce: "Yeah, I go to pretty school"
Katie: "Pretty school?"
Me: "You mean Pre-school, Bugs, not pretty school"
Bryce: *giving me a 'duh' look* "Yeah, that's what I said, pretty school. I have to go there cause I am only four. But, on my next birthday, I will be five. Then, I get to be an olive gardener"
Katie: *discreetly coughing to cover her laugh* "Oooohhhhh! You will be five and then you get to go to the big school, huh?"
Bryce: "Yeah, but I have to wait one more summer after I am five. The I go to olive garden".
Me: *not doing such a great job hiding my amusement* "Yup, you get to go to KINDERgarten"
Bryce: "Yeah, it's gonna be great"

HA! For HIM it will be great. I, on the other hand will need some serious, mind numbing drugs for a while. I really wish it WAS the Olive Garden he was going to. THAT I can handle. Kindergarten is just a whole new chapter I am no where near ready to open. Perhaps Olive Garden will help me ease into it. Argh! Why can't they stay little forever????
