Doodlebops and Dorothy

I took Bryce to see the Doodlebops this Saturday. We had SUCH a blast. He was dancing, yelling, and singing through all of the songs with a Beetle's Mania-esq enthusiasm. I was having more fun watching him than I did the show! Of course, we took a ton of pictures and, once i get them uploaded, those on my email list will get to see what a great time we had.

After the show, I took him to lunch and he was ever the gentleman throughout, offering to carry my soda and purse, telling me to sit down first. . . he is going to be such a great boyfriend some day! Because I didn't think Brady would make it through the show, he stayed home with daddy, so it was just Bryce and I. It was nice to have an afternoon with my big boy all to myself. We haven't had one since before Brady was born.

On a sad note, we woke up this morning and, while fixing breakfast, I noticed that Dorothy was quite still in the tank, and was pretty much in the same spot at the top of the tank that she had been the night before when I fed the fish. I went over to check on her and, sure enough, she has passed on to the big pond in the sky. I am so sad over her loss, because we fought so hard to get her well. She was doing so good this past week, I truly thought she was going to pull through. I guess the trauma of all she had been through was just too much for her little body to handle. Bryce is pretty sad, but is having a hard time understanding what dead means, what Heaven is, and why Dorothy has to come out of the tank. I am going to wait for Travis to come home tonight and we will bury her in the backyard and have a funeral of sorts for her, and I am hoping this will help him understand a bit more.
